Chinese autonomous-driving software maker Momenta agreed to develop advanced driver-assistance technology with Dongfeng Stellantis Automotive Technology in Wuhan. The partnership adds Peugeot and Jeep to Momenta's expanding list of international vehicle brands using its systems.

The companies signed their global strategic agreement in Shanghai on September 24. They will jointly create systems based on Momenta's R7 world model for new mass-produced Peugeot and Jeep vehicles rather than limiting the work to research prototypes.

Deployment is planned for China, Europe and other global markets. Peugeot and Jeep will participate in product definition and co-development so that the assisted-driving features fit each brand's identity instead of applying one identical configuration.

Engineering work will combine Momenta's software with the joint venture's vehicle development and chassis expertise. Steering, braking and powertrain responses are intended to preserve Jeep's off-road character and Peugeot's established approach to driving dynamics.

Dongfeng Stellantis Automotive Technology was created by Dongfeng Motor, Stellantis and other partners. Stellantis formed the venture in August as it sought a stronger position against Chinese competitors and a path for new-energy vehicles in several markets.

The agreement extends Momenta beyond its established base among German premium manufacturers. Its assistance software is already operating in more than 1.2 million vehicles, giving the company extensive production experience as it pursues wider adoption by mainstream global brands.

The announcement did not specify launch dates, model names, commercial values or the precise automation level for each vehicle. Its immediate significance lies in linking Chinese driving intelligence to the global sales networks of Peugeot and Jeep while retaining joint brand engineering.
