Russia will allocate more than 250 billion rubles, equivalent to about 3.14 billion dollars, to its comprehensive aviation industry development program in 2026. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the funding at a government meeting on aircraft manufacturing.
A central part of the allocation will increase advance payments and support the delivery of more than 70 aircraft. Funds will also be used to complete production preparations at major manufacturers and the companies that supply them.
The package separately finances delivery of more than 70 Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to regional airlines. That measure connects industrial production with the operating needs of carriers serving Russia's regions.
The government is also preparing an investment project for the Il-114-300 regional turboprop. The plan is directed at air services in the Far Eastern Federal District.
The same investment work includes the LMS-901 Baikal aircraft. Supporting two regional platforms gives the program a specific focus on shorter domestic routes as well as the broader manufacturing pipeline.
Mishustin said aircraft output must be maintained and planned orders fulfilled through 2035. The long horizon requires both current deliveries and continued preparation at manufacturers and partner enterprises.
A preferential lending program will be introduced for airlines leasing Russian-made aircraft. By reducing financing costs for carriers, the government intends to support domestic purchases and keep production lines supplied with orders.
